‘The Punisher’ Quit Playing Games with My Heart!

So in a very 21st Century move yesterday The Punisher’s Twitter blew the frack up! Playing games with the hearts of their fans, and it worked. They tweeted out a series of thirteen messages consisting of dashes and dots included below.

Now since I know nothing about what this meant I waited for others far more skilled than I to figure it out. It was a matter of moments before the first tweet was figured to be the short hand for morse code. It read 3 am, so of course those following the tweet lost the ever living minds believing we were finally getting either a full trailer or a release date. They had us at the edge of our seats.

Roughly an hour later another coded message was tweeted out. This one translated to Two Dead Men. Finally someone figured it out. They were sending us all of the episode titles. Thirteen in all.

  1. 3 AM
  2. Two Dead Men
  3. Kandahar
  4. Resupply
  5. Gunner
  6. The Judas Goat
  7. Crosshairs
  8. Cold Steel
  9. Front Toward Enemy
  10. Virtue of the Vicious
  11. Danger Close
  12. Home
  13. Memento Mori

I’m happy to see a good number of episodes. I wasn’t sure how many total we would get but this is a great start to Frank’s story. It’s obvious that his military history will be touched on between this and the Teaser they’ve already released. From what I can tell Frank is going to be in hiding at the beginning of the series. But although he’s an anti-hero at his heart is a good man who does bad things to bad people.

They followed up this amazing set of tweets with what I would call an extended motion poster.

We get images of the characters; Ben Barnes as Billy Ruso, obviously Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page (heart eyes), Paul Schulze as Rawlins, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as David Lieberman/Micro, ending on Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher. His face bleeding into The Punisher skull was amazing.

But the icing on the cake was the date scrolling through numbers with the 2017 always there. It ended with the month and day blacked out like some secret redacted CIA file which is perfectly in tune with The Punisher’s lore. I kept playing it over and over again hoping to sneak a glance at a date it slows down on the longest but no luck So I will be waiting not so patiently for Netflix and Marvel to release the premier date. I’m sure you will be too.

The Punisher can be seen in Season 2 of Daredevil streaming right now on Netflix. The Punisher series will premier some time this year on Netflix.
