RUMOR: Eddie Redmayne Possible Lead Choice for #FantasticBeasts

While Matt Smith would be amazing in the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Eddie Redmayne would work just as well too. J. K. Rowling on the Today Show admitted that she is working hard on the scripts for this planned trilogy and that she hasn’t ruled out writing more in the Harry Potter world now that she’s immersed herself back in it for the sake of these adaptation. However, she said the furthering of Harry, Ron and Hermione’s story is probably not happening.

Supposedly Eddie’s been approached and that he doesn’t want to commit until he can read a script so we’ll see. I cannot imagine anyone saying no to this role no matter how fast their career has taken off and Eddie’s has indeed. The man won an Oscar recently!

David Yates is on board to direct the feature project, which is set 70 years before the events of the Potter series and centers on a fictitious author named Newton Artemis Fido Scamander. In Potter lore, Scamander compiled a reference guide to magical beasts, and the movies will follow his adventures after he is commissioned to write the tome. (x)

The film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has a November 18, 2016 release date.
