‘Shadowhunters’ Renewed For Season 3

Shadowhunters is coming back for a Season 3.

The news was announced by the cast live on Facebook, and it comes just two days after Freeform held its annual upfront presentation in New York. Due to scheduling issues, the Shadowhunters gang was unable to attend, which is probably why the news was announced this way.

The second half of season 2, which is currently being filmed in Toronto, premieres Monday, June 5. Will Tudor will be joining the cast when the show returns, as Sebastian.

Shadowhunters, based on the popular Mortal Instruments novels by Cassandra Clare, was Freeform’s strongest scripted show in 2016. It earned a season 2 renewal with new showrunners: Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer. Both of them will be saying on, and will be EPs alongside McG, Michael Reisz, Matt Hastings, Mary Viola, Martin Moszkowicz and Robert Kulzer.

The Twitter page confirmed the news shortly after, posting:

Shadowhunters is produced by Constantin Film. The series stars Katherine McNamara, Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, Emeraude Toubia, Matthew Daddario, Isaiah Mustafa and Harry Shum Jr.
