Another Marvel property that was introduced at the Marvel presentation in Hall H at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) was Spider-Man: Homecoming.
SDCC attendees were treated to footage from the film that is currently filming. Although the footage is not available online yet, those in the audience commented that it had a truly teen movie feel remnant of Freaks and Geeks or a John Hughes film.
Director Jon Watts revealed that Tony Revolori will be playing the role as Peter’s high school nemesis, Flash Thompson. Laura Harrie will be playing Liz Allen and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds – both of whom are classic characters from the original Spider-Man comics.
We have not learnt much about the role that Zendaya will play in the film yet except what Watts revealed to EW that the character’s name is Michelle with many speculating that it would be a younger version of the comic character Michelle Gonzales.
Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, as well as Michael Keaton, Donald Glover, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei, Tyne Daly and Robert Downey Jr and will be released in cinemas on July 7, 2017.
