‘Stop and Fangirl’ Episode 77: Captain Marvel Review (With Spoilers)

Here at Fangirlish we continue to support your right to fangirl over any fandom you desire – whether that is a book, a TV show, a movie, or even sports. That’s why we have Stop and Fangirl! So you can feel happy – and confident, loving whatever it is you love.

For our 17th episode of season three, we wax poetic about our Captain Marvel! Previously we did an episode with our expectation, wants, and needs when it came to this landmark movie. We held back on spoilers before but we’re no longer holding back!

Our love letter to Captain Marvel covers the heteronormative gaze when it comes to Maria and Carol, the friendship between Carol and Fury, and what representation means to us and others that are experiencing someone like Carol for the first time. Also, we talk about what Marvel superhero film we’d like to see next with a female lead. One of us hopes it’s Squirrel girl!

So without further ado…STOP AND FANGIRL WITH US! And when you’re done, leave a comment here or on our Twitter about what you loved from Captain Marvel!

Lyra enjoys loud mouthed, damaged characters, with a penchant for rescuing people and drinking their sorrows away. When she isn’t splurging on Netflix shows she’s not so quietly ranting about Teen Wolf, The Walking Dead, and Supernatural!
