Stop and Fangirl Episode 16: Badass Parents on TV

Here at Fangirlish we continue to support your right to fangirl over any fandom you desire – whether that is a book, a TV show, a movie, or even sports. That’s why we have  Stop and Fangirl!  So you can feel  happy – and confident, loving whatever it is you love.

Join us as we embark on this adventure and try to provide fangirls (and boys) a place free of judgement – so you can let your fan flag fly!

In episode 16 we talk bad-ass parents on TV, why they’re so scarce, whether a character can actually come into his own and become a hero while still having a support system or whether the Batman trope means that a hero must lose his parents in order to, well, become a hero. We also provide examples of the few badass parents we can think of.

So, without further ado…stop and fangirl with us! And when you’re done, come and share your favorites with us! (There really aren’t that many)

Lawyer. Dreamer. Geek. Eternal optimist. Fangirl since the dawn of time. Hates the color yellow, olives and cigarettes. Has a recurring nightmare where she’s forced to choose between sports and books. Falls in love with fictional characters.
