Supergirl makes no attempts to hide the connection between Supergirl and Superman in the show’s pilot, from the Man of Steel’s cameo in the pilot to a familiar face that comes to National City to watch over Kara. Jimmy – sorry, James – Olsen is a character that bonds Kara to Clark, but also provides a plethora of possibilities as for where the character is headed in terms of his relationship with Kara, from mentor to possible love interest.
We spoke to Mehcad Brooks at Comic-Con about the show and James Olsen, including mentoring Kara, being Superman’s best friend, and living in the superhero world.
One of the comic characters fans are most excited to see portrayed in Supergirl is Hank Henshaw, who is the pilot makes his feelings about Kara and aliens in general perfectly clear. While bitter on the surface, he still appears to be hiding something that will probably become more clear the further the show progresses in its first season. One of the more interesting things that we’ll see play out is how Hank handles working with Kara.
We spoke to David Harewood at Comic-Con about the series and Hank Henshaw and got some teases about season 1, including the dynamic between his character, Kara and Alex, Hank’s reasoning behind his problems with aliens, and David’s fresh take on the Hank Henshaw character.
Supergirl premieres Monday, Oct. 26 at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.
