‘Supernatural’ alum Amy Gumenick cast as The Arrow’s No. 1 fan

The Arrow is about to meet his No. 1 fan. But that doesn’t sound like it’s going to be a good thing.

Supernatural alum Amy Gumenick has booked a guest-starring role on Arrow‘s third season as Carrie Cutter (aka Cupid in the comics), Entertainment Weekly has learned. She will make her first appearance in episode 6 of the upcoming season and will also appear in episode 7.

EW goes on to say that, like the comics, Gumenick’s Cupid will be “a lethal villainness with a dangerously obsessive crush on The Arrow.”

Arrow executive producer Andrew Kreisberg created the character during his run on the Green Arrow/Black Canary comic book series. “I always loved the idea of Green Arrow having a crazed fan,” Kreisberg told EW. “When I was writing the comic book, my big goal was to create a villain who would last. Cupid has since appeared in the DC Nation shorts on Cartoon Network, and to have her fight our TV Arrow is so much more than I ever could have hoped for the character.”

Arrow returns for season 3 on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
