Taylor Swift Unleashes New Single “Look What You Made Me Do” And We’re Digging It

It’s here, it’s fierce and it’s unlike anything we expected. Last night, Taylor Swift unleashed her debut single off of her new album “Reputation” and we have a lot of feelings.

“Look What You Made Me Do” is unlike anything we’ve heard Taylor Swift sing. She’s undergone transformations in the past, but this is different. In the most buzzed about lyrics from the new single Swift even sings, “’I’m sorry, the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now.’ ‘Why?’ ‘Oh, ’cause she’s dead!'” Swift even updated her Twitter bio to reflect this.

The lyrics are filled with her calling out those that have done her wrong. She sings, “The world moves on, another day, another drama, drama. But not for me, not for me, all I think about is karma.” This is of course, a likely reference to the Kim Kardashian and Kanye West feud that has seemingly usurped all the previous years of Swift’s career.

The song is kind of like our older sister is going through her rebellious phase and we like it?! While the single has garnered criticism from people across the Internet, it just seems to boil down to the fact that anything Taylor Swift does isn’t good enough. Honestly, this single sounds like anything Katy Perry or early Lady Gaga would release. It seems that simply because Taylor Swift is singing, the internet has a problem.

While we were more stunned on the first listen, after about the tenth listen of “Look What You Made Me Do” it’s something we’re dancing around in room to over and over again. We’re here for new Swift and are excited to see what the rest of the album entails.

On the heels of the new single release, Swift also announced you can pre-order her album now and there will be a Target exclusive magazine “Reputation” available.

Also, the music video for “Look What You Made Me Do” will premiere during the VMA’s on MTV this Sunday at 8/7c!

Taylor Swift’s new album “Reputation” will drop on November 10th
