The CW Orders ‘Arrow’/’Flash’ Spinoff ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’ to Series

Not that it should come to any surprise, but The CW has ordered the Arrow/Flash spinoff, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow to series, the network announced on Thursday.

The spinoff features characters from the hit shows Arrow and The Flash, including Arrow‘s Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) and The Flash‘s Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) and Martin Stein (Victor Garber). Caity Lotz, who played Sara Lance on Arrow, will also join the spinoff but we don’t know who she will play. Newcomers Arthur Darvill, Ciara Renee, and Franz Drameh also join the cast.

The network released an official description of the spinoff:

When heroes alone are not enough, the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat—one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?

This. Sounds. AWESOME. And due to the fact that I’m feeling better about the Ray Palmer character given his recent characterization, I’m even excited for the Atom!

We’ll find out just where Legends lands on The CW’s schedule — whether its fall or midseason — during the network’s upfront on May 14.
