‘The Flash’ 1×08 Preview Guide: ‘Flash vs. Arrow’

The Flash is all-new tonight with part one of an epic two-night crossover event featuring Arrow and The Flash. As the title suggests “Flash vs. Arrow” — it seems as if our titular heroes are having their differences. (Who do we think would win — Flash or Arrow? Find out here)

We’re getting you ready for tonight’s crossover episode with sneak peeks, photos and three things we want to know.

Tuesday, Dec. 2, 8pm, The CW

3 Things We Want to Know:

  1. What provokes this massive Flash vs. Arrow showdown?

We’ve got to ask: Why are Flash and Arrow showing down in part one of this two-part crossover event? It seems like a metahuman that makes people lose their emotions is the culprit, but there wouldn’t be a fight without some underlying feelings between Barry and Oliver. Will our two heroes be able to team up and take down our emotional baddie?

  2. How does Team Arrow acclimate to Central City?

While Felicity has already been to Central City in episode 1×04 of The Flash, we’ve yet to see all three members of Team Arrow interacting and dealing with Central City and Team Flash at S.T.A.R. Labs. We already know that they’ll be some animosity between Oliver and Barry, but here’s to hoping Team Arrow and Team Flash’s interactions go down more smoothly.

  3. What big tease will we learn about Harrison Wells?

It’s no secret that Harrison Wells is the shadiest character on The Flash and that every week we’re itching for more about Dr. Wells and his futuristic ties. There’s been a lot of teasing surrounding the crossover event, including something about Dr. Wells being revealed. So just give it to us already.

PART ONE OF THE EPIC CROSSOVER EVENT WITH THE FLASH AND ARROW — Barry (Grant Gustin) is thrilled when Oliver (guest star Stephen Amell), Felicity (guest star Emily Bett Rickards) and Diggle (guest star David Ramsey) come to Central City to investigate a case involving a deadly boomerang. Excited about teaming up with his friend, Barry asks Oliver if he’d like to help him stop Ray Bivolo (guest star Patrick Sabongui), the meta-human Barry is currently tracking. Bivolo causes people to lose control of their emotions and has been using that skill to rob banks. Unfortunately, the superhero partnership doesn’t go as smoothly as Barry expected. When Oliver tells Barry he still has a lot to learn, Barry sets out to prove him wrong by attempting to stop Bivolo alone. However, when Bivolo infects Barry and sets him on a rage rampage, everyone is in danger, and the only one who can stop him is the Arrow. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) is furious when Eddie (Rick Cosnett) tries to get a task force to stop The Flash, Joe and Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) agree the Arrow is a bad influence on Barry, and Caitlin and Cisco deal with a new team in S.T.A.R. Labs. Glen Winter directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Ben Sokolowski & Brooke Eikmeier (#107). Original airdate 12/2/2014.

The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
