Tyler Posey is a hero to many–both as himself and as Beacon Hills’ resident True Alpha, Scott McCall. But who is Posey’s hero? The Teen Wolf star is answering that question in the next installment of AOL’s My Hero, releasing Friday at midnight. The My Hero series is executive-produced by Zoe Saldana and features various celebrities–Julianne Hough and Nick Cannon, to name a few–talking about their personal heroes. TVLine shared an exclusive first look at Posey’s appearance, revealing that Tyler’s hero is his mom: “a breast cancer survivor and the fearless leader of his personal pack.”
Take a look at the preview below:
Those of us who watched MTV’s special Being Tyler Posey got to see more of Tyler with his mom. She seems so strong, and our best wishes are with her and the whole Posey family. We can’t wait to see how Tyler’s hero reacts to her surprise in the full My Hero episode tomorrow–but in the meantime, here are just a few of the reasons why Teen Wolf‘s Scott McCall is our hero.
He Looks Out for His Pack (and Everyone Else)
Let’s be honest, Beacon Hills is not going to be making any “safest cities in the US” lists any time soon. Werewolves, hunters, kanimas… There’s always another supernatural threat on the horizon, and you can bet that Scott & Co. will have to face it. If anyone truly exemplifies Allison’s code (“We protect those who cannot protect themselves”), it’s Scott. From being Stiles’ wingman at a party to tracking the missing Derek down in Mexico, if someone needs help, you can bet that Scott McCall will be there.
He’s a Charismatic & Trustworthy Leader
Over the years, Scott has grown into a True Alpha admired and respected by just about everyone who meets him. With his commitment to keeping the ones he loves safe (and, well, alive) and his strong moral compass, Scott and his natural charisma command the respect of even former rivals, such as Derek and Argent. When Scott is around, you just feel like everything is going to be okay. If that’s not the hallmark of a true hero, I don’t know what is.
He Will Always Sacrifice Himself for His Friends
Using his Alpha powers to take others’ pain away (thus taking it on himself). Offering to give Stiles the bite if he is diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. Being a literal sacrifice in the ice baths. Scott McCall has proven over and over again that there is nothing he won’t do to protect others. Scott has endured so much physically and emotionally in his time as a werewolf–but as long as his pack is safe, he brushes off injuries with an “It’s just a flesh wound!” attitude. A real leader, Alpha or otherwise, needs to protect their followers, and there is never any doubt that Scott will do everything in his power to help his friends.
