‘Once Upon A Time’ Ending After Season 7

By

Entertainment Weekly just reported that ABC’s hit show Once Upon A Time will end after the current season’s finale airs in May.

After 7 years, 156 episodes, dropping ratings through the years, and many, many plot lines – some beloved – some hated, the show will say goodbye.

The current season, as we know, lost a majority of it’s main cast and the writers did somewhat of a reset to the show, with mixed reactions. Our recent Fangirlish roundtable on the season up to this point, even notes exactly this.

I note every week what I like and dislike about it, and I’m not exactly surprised at this. I’m actually glad it’s ending because I just doubt there is more the writers can tell without more convoluted plot lines.

Horowitz and Kitsis, the show’s creators, note they aren’t surprised by the news, and honestly, I doubt anyone is. They note that they are grateful to ABC for the 7 seasons they got and that they will try to leave fans with a good feeling – something some fans note that may be impossible to do. I guess we will have to see how it pans out.

So, what do you think of the news that OUAT will end after the finale airs in May? Do you still feel nostalgia over the good old days when the show was in its prime? Please leave us your comments!

Once Upon A Time‘s next episode airs on March 2 at 8/7c on ABC.
