Wahlberg Brothers Celebrate Wahlburgers Asia Expansion in Hollywood

There’s nothing better than a good burger… especially when you can enjoy it alongside the Wahlberg brothers.

Fangirlish attended a celebratory event in Hollywood on January 17 honoring the major Asia expansion of Wahlburgers, the better burger restaurant brand founded by Chef Paul Wahlberg and celebrity brothers Mark and Donnie. This joint venture with Cachet Hospitality Group will bring 100 restaurants to China and the surrounding region over the next five years, with the first three slated to open in Hangzhou, Wuhan, and Shanghai.

Wahlburgers, which debuted in 2011 in Hingham, Massachusetts, “offers a fun, casual, music-filled environment where guests, like family, share great food, a few laughs, and lots of love.” Those great vibes were more than evident at the Hollywood celebration, which concluded with Chinese New Year-inspired entertainment.

At the event, Wahlburgers founders Chef Paul Wahlberg and producer/actor Mark Wahlberg were on-hand to discuss the company’s exciting expansion plans and join in the celebration. They spoke of their enthusiasm about the upcoming Asia Wahlburgers locations and teased the potential for new menu items inspired by regional cuisine.

Wahlburgers CEO Rick Vanzura and representatives from new partners Cachet and the Arjomand Group also weighed in on the new ventures in Asia, sharing videos from the first locations in China. “We’re excited about this wonderful opportunity to grow in Asia,” Vanzura said. “Having a savvy, financially strong partner is essential and we have a great partner in the Cachet Hospitality Group, which will bring an unprecedented level of service and strength to the Wahlburgers brand.”

As cool as it was to see the Wahlberg brothers, who waved to fans overlooking the event in the Hollywood and Highland Center’s central courtyard, what we were really excited about was tasting the cuisine. Guests were treated to a choice of four of Wahlburgers’ signature chef-inspired burgers and tater tots. We sampled the portobello burger – definitely not a go-to choice for us on a regular day, but delicious and savory with cheese and onions on top. We also got to try a Thanksgiving-inspired burger – Mark’s favorite – which included turkey and stuffing in lieu of a beef patty. The tater tots were, of course, divine.
