Wattpad Book Review: Into the Shadows by @MyLifeIsForfeit

Anyone who enjoys reading fan fiction can attest to the fact that there is no shortage of it on Wattpad. Especially no shortage of fan fiction written about the lovely lads of One Direction. Whether as a group, individually, as a band, or alternate universe, if you love stories about 1D, Wattpad is your place.

But something else readers might notice is the trends in this fan fiction. As the undisputed most popular, the highest number of stories feature Harry Styles. There are many of the other lads, but at times it can be difficult to find a good, well rounded fiction featuring them as a lead.

Well, we have found one. And it has captivated our reader so much she’s been talking about it for weeks!

Into the Shadows by @mylifeisforfeit is a medieval set fiction of kingdoms rule, that will leave you craving more.

A timeless tale of forbidden love emerges in the 1650s. And their love not only affects them, but the future of their warring nations. How is there time for love when the fate of a country rests in one’s hands?

Kalysta is the Princess of Elysium, trained in politics and burdened to save her country from the greed of a rival King. So what good could come of falling in love with Ambassador Zayn, her enemy’s son?

There is a strong warning on the entry page alerting readers to the strong subject matter. Some language, sex, and scenes of a sensitive nature are present, but done so with a delicate hand.

Absolutely incredible attention to detail. The plot is complex, with twists, turns and moves that you know the author took their time planning out. The world and characters she has created is unique and superb, and unlike anything our reviewer has read before.

Of course, the setting is unique. As a history major herself, our reviewer was drawn to the medieval settings and ways, of kingdoms and rule. The conquering of other lands was so realistic, you felt as though back in time.

But more so, it’s a Zayn fiction! All the 1D lads play a role, but your male lead is Zayn, and she has written him so well.

Due to the complexity of the plot, at times the story can be a little slow. Of course, this is necessary as the next climax is set up, so don’t be discouraged. You may feel it dragging for a bit, but things will pick up, and usually in a big way.

There really are not enough Zayn fictions out there. But this one sets the bar for all those to follow, and does it amazingly well. I’ve been wanting to review this work for a while, and am so happy to be able to share this story with others. Believe me, you will love it!
