Bringing you another incredible Wattpader to add to your read list with Fangirlish Wattpad Writer Wednesday. Since we know you love Wattpad and writers as much as we do, we’re going to keep you up to date with those to watch!
When did you start writing on Wattpad?
I joined back in 2011, but didn’t begin writing until 2012.
What made you decide start posting your work on Wattpad?
I have a goal in life to publish at least one book before I die. I write fanfiction for fun and to hone my writing skills, and Wattpad allows me to get feedback from people who don’t know me. Getting feedback from strangers makes me feel better about my work because I won’t feel like they’re “just being nice.”
What made Wattpad the best outlet for your writing?
It seemed easier. I used to have a account on other sites, but Wattpad was a lot easier.
Why is it that you write?
I took a Children’s literature class in high school and absolutely fell in love with writing; I love that you imagination can run wild and free.
Do you want to be an author?
My ultimate goal in life is to get into the film/entertainment industry. Though being an author isn’t my #1 dream job it is definitely an aspiration of mine.
If you could give any advice to a Wattpad writer, what would it be?
Don’t give up. I was skeptical about writing my first fanfic and I finally dug down deep and wrote it. I even let some fellow students read it and they loved it. If writing is something you want to do, don’t let anyone hold you back.
What fandom do you think that you would never write about?
I can’t say that there is a specific fandom per say, I mainly just write about what I enjoy the most; my preference is always changing.
What fandom do you want to write about?
Right now I have a few good ideas for The Walking Dead, but I can see myself getting into Game of Thrones as well.
Who are your favorite published authors?
I love George R.R. Martin, Robert Kirkman, Khaled Housseini, and Ben Mikaelsen.
What’s the best comment that you ever received from a reader?
My favorite comment would have to be when I finished my Ghostbusters fanfic. I had multiple readers asking me to write another fanfic giving Egon Spangler a love interest. I wish I went through with it, but I decided to move onto another fandom.
Who are your favorite Wattpad writers?
I love reading other people’s works, but one Wattpad author that stands out in my mind is AshtonLynne. She has a fanfic called Irresistible Danger and I absolutely love it. It’s a Walking Dead fanfic based on Negan and it is everything I’ve been looking for in a Negan fanfic. It showed how he truly is and how he began to change into a decent human being as he falls in love with the main character.
Tell us about a story you’ve written that you’re most proud of and why people should be reading it.
I’m proud of both of my fanfics, but I’m more proud of my Walking Dead fanfic. It has truly brought me out of my shell as a writer and I’m beginning to become more of a relaxed writer instead of worrying how everyone will like each chapter.
Do you ever write from experience?
I almost did once. I went through some tough times in high school and wanted to write a story about my experiences to let other readers know that they weren’t alone, but my ptsd caused me to back out.
Have you made friends thanks to being an author on Wattpad?
Absolutely! I have made so many friends while writing; I often ask them for advice and bounce ideas off of them. They have been so helpful and I’m eternally grateful for everything they’ve done for me.
What’s your most well known story and why do you think it’s the most popular?
My fanfiction Ghostbusters: Return of Gozer. I think it’s popular because it is a topic that not too many wrote about (as far as I know) and it doesn’t help that they made a 3rd movie too haha.
