#Wattpad Writer Wednesday: Learn More About @calumf0rnia

Writing is no easy thing, but it’s something that I love. I am always intrigued by the people that are out there and the things that come from these amazing minds. Today we are featuring @calumf0rnia – whose Wattpad story Nudes ranked #5 in Fan Ficition for sometime. Read her stories HERE.

When did you start writing on Wattpad?

I started writing on Wattpad about a year ago, when I made my account to read fan-fiction.

What inspired you to write on Wattpad?

I was inspired by the large community of One Direction fan fiction. There are so many young writers with great writing skills and ideas on the website, and I think because of that, a lot of people, including me, has taken an interest in literature.

What has writing on Wattpad taught you?

Writing on wattpad has taught me to embrace my personality. I was so angry at myself for not being able to spark anyones interest on my books (considering that most of my books had 30 reads,) but after I decided to write something that embraced my humor, it really hit home. I’m almost at 2 million reads on my fanfic, Nudes; don’t be afraid to write what you want to write about.

Why did you choose to write Fan Fiction?

I started reading fan fiction, and I was so intrigued by the idea of a fiction story with a character as one of my idols/hear throbs. It’s a more interesting thing to start writing about than having the thought of writing an ACTUAL book, haha.

What is your favorite part of writing Fan Fiction?

My favorite part of writing Fan Fiction is the response I get from my readers. With every photo I upload, a character I include, i’m able to get their opinions on the situation. They always have something to say about my work. I appreciate that.

What fandom do you think would be the hardest fandom to write in?

I’m not sure, haha. I’ve only been involved and exposed to the Band side of the fandom. But I guess people who write Fan Fiction for already-published books. I feel like they would get judged somehow on their new ideas– like, the feedback would be more harsh to deal with?

What’s been the best compliment you received from a fan?

Someone messaged me saying how I inspired them to write a fan fiction for a school assignment, and it was hands down the best thing I’ve ever heard in my entire life.

Who are your favorite published authors?

The thing is, I don’t read real books. Haha, yeah.

What advice do you have for Wattpad writers?

Embrace your ideas! You never know what will happen to it!

Who is your favorite Wattpad writer?

To name a few, I really enjoyed Water Boy by NarryonTop. I also really like 1D_Jollygood’s fan fictions. Oh, and also Fivesaucewhoop. I don’t know, I’ve read A LOT of fan fiction, and I found a lot of great authors, but with complicated usernames, haha.

Tell us about your favorite story that you have written and why people should be reading it.

Well, I think people would say Nudes, because it’s my most popular fan fiction, but honestly, I’d say Prison. I only have the prologue up, but I was really genuine while writing it. I felt like I was actually there. It’s a thrilling, one-of-a-kind fan fiction, that portrays Harry Styles as a man in prison. The fan fiction will go through a journey of Harry finding his justice, potentially free from prison, as he struggles to unravel his wrongful jailing– with the help of a female lead, of course. It’s going to be mixed with humor and wit, something I like to add into my writing. I hope people enjoy my stories. (:

Head Bitch In Charge

I work a lot. Fangirlish is my baby. I work in social media professionally and I love it – which is probably why I don’t keep up on my own. I don’t sleep enough and I obsess too much over my favorite things. I need to work on combing my hair more. Or at elast I need to stop dying it different colors.
