Wattpad Writer Wednesday: We Talk to Anna Todd

Today for Wattpad Writer Wednesdays, we get to interview one of my favorite people in the world. Not only because she’s an amazing author, but because she is an amazing person. Say what you want about Anna Todd – she’s one of the most genuine people on the face of the earth and will be there through thick and thin for her fans. She’s been there for me and I would never be able to repay her for the impact her books have had on my life.

When did you start writing on Wattpad?

I started writing on Wattpad in April 2013. I was reading on Wattpad for a few months before I posted my own story.

What inspired you to write on Wattpad?

I was inspired by the community on Wattpad and my love of books and fan fiction.

What has writing on Wattpad taught you?

Writing on Wattpad has taught me a lot! The most important thing is that it taught me to believe in myself, it sounds corny but it’s so true. I never believed I could accomplish something like having published books and a movie!

Why did you choose to write Fan Fiction?

I chose to write FanFiction because I love reading it, it felt like the most natural and fun thing to write.

What is your favorite part of writing Fan Fiction?

My favorite part of writing FanFiction is getting to live in a world that I already love in different ways. For example, I love Vampire Diaries and when the show is over each week or season, I can go read fanfic and live in that world longer and in different ways.

What fandom do you think would be the hardest fandom to write in?

Dr. Who fandom would be the hardest for sure! There’s just so much to it!

What’s been the best compliment you received from a fan?

The best compliment I’ve received from readers is when they tell me that I inspired them to read more and/or write their own stories. That makes me unbelievably happy.

Who are your favorite published authors?

My favorite published authors are Cassandra Clare, Jane Austen, Christina Lauren and RK Lilley.

What advice do you have for Wattpad writers?

My advice for Wattpad writers is to write a lot. It sounds simple, but you should try to post as much as you can because readers, myself included, want to read an on going story, not a little bit then wait a month then have a new chapter. Also, remember that you really can do this, you can write an amazing story and have followers and readers and success. I started with zero reads and zero followers too.

Who is your favorite Wattpad writer?

My favorite Wattpad writers are KFan, Molly Knight and Elle Rose.

I work a lot. Fangirlish is my baby. I work in social media professionally and I love it - which is probably why I don't keep up on my own. I don't sleep enough and I obsess too much over my favorite things. I need to work on combing my hair more. Or at elast I need to stop dying it different colors.
