I was given the opportunity to work in the press pen at the world premiere of Insurgent in London on March 11th. This was my first time ever doing something like this and I was so nervous about it all. When I arrived in London I had to go to the W Hotel to check in and get my press pass and wristband that would allow me to get into the press pen. This whole experience was nerve-wracking as I had no idea where I was supposed to be and I was worried that I was in the wrong pen. I began talking to some of the other people in the pen and my nerves were calmed as we all talked about where we were from and premieres in general. When the cars began to arrive I became nervous again as I knew it was only a matter of time before the stars would be making their way to the press pens. Veronica Roth was the first person that I got to speak to and once I started talking to her my worries disappeared and I just felt like I was having a normal conversation with her. Theo James was next and we were only allowed to ask a few questions as a group and so it was hard for us all to figure out a question that would fit with our respective outlets. We settled on a few and when Theo came over he was very kind and polite and it was an amazing experience to be able to talk to him like that. Shailene was last but I didn’t have the chance to ask her any questions as the other people around me asked too many. However it was still really interesting to hear her answers for other questions that I would never have thought of asking. I was then given tickets to go in and watch the movie which was really exciting and the movie was great.
Overall it was a really fun experience and I would love to do it again. It’s so different going to an event like this as press rather than as a fan and I enjoyed seeing what it was like being in the press pen. It was one of the best days of my life and I’m very grateful that I was given the opportunity to represent Fangirlish on the red carpet.
