Where Have I Seen Them Before – Daredevil Cast

It’s been a few months since season 1 of Daredevil was released on Netflix but it was so amazing that we are still talking about it and are waiting in eager anticipation for season 2 which will be released in 2016. One of the many reasons why the show was so successful is the excellent cast that play their roles in such a raw and convincing way. I felt scared every time Matt put himself in danger, I cried with Karen, I cheered for Claire, and I laughed with Foggy.

In just 13 episodes Daredevil made me fall in love with this band of misfits. So just like with every other show you might be thinking, that actor looks familiar, and you can’t for the life of you remember where you saw them before, so here’s a little guide as to some of their other roles.

Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock

The British actor who somersaulted into our hearts as the blind lawyer/masked vigilante Matt Murdock has been in The Theory of Everything, Downton Abbey and Boardwalk Empire but he is perhaps most popular as Tristan, the young man whose mission to find a falling star sets him on a supernatural quest in Stardust.

Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page

Our favorite receptionist/resident badass amazed us with her ability to stand up for herself and to seek what is right in a world where things were not going her way. Karen Page is played by the extremely beautiful Deborah Ann Woll who was in Ruby Sparks, but is probably best known as Jessica, the progeny of the Vampire King, in True Blood.

Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson

The amount of times I teared up during the sentimental Matt/Foggy moments are too numerous to count. Foggy brought the laughter and the heart to the series so well and the way that Elden Henson portrayed the role gave it so much more significance and beauty that it’s easy to see that he’s been in a number of our favorite films and series over the years. As he was a former child actor, he’s been in Mighty Ducks, She’s All That, Idle Hands, The Butterfly Effect and more recently in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and 2 as Pollux, the mute cameraman from the Capitol.

Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk

The big bad of the season, Vincent D’Onoforio’s balance of delicacy and aggression allowed us to empathize and fear Fisk aka The Kingpin, a deadly villain. D’Onofrio is well known for his ability to play a wide variety of characters and has a long repertoire of work from Full Metal Jacket, Mystic Pizza, The Judge, Men In Black but probably best known as playing the Sherlock-inspired Detective Robert Goren in Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple

Perhaps the best known of the cast, Rosario Dawson plays Claire Temple, a nurse is often on hand to patch up Matt Murdock’s wounds when he gets up to his shenanigans. While it has been announced that Claire will appear as the Night Nurse who treats wounded superheroes in New York City in the other Defenders shows – Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage – Rosario has been seen on our screens long before she became a Marvel regular. Dawson is known for Sin City, Rent and Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. But the role that shot her onto the map was the beautiful Valerie in Josie and the Pussycats.
