Well, it’s official. Woody Harrelson has joined the cast of the stand-alone Han Solo movie, as good as news as we’ve heard since we started hearing news about this movie.
Harrelson, who younger audiences will remember for his role as Haymitch in The Hunger Games movies, will play a key role in the next Star Wars stand-alone movie, which will follow a younger Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich.
“We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody,” said the film’s directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. “His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”
Phil Lord and Chris Miller are set to direct the film, which has already brought aboard Donald Glover as young Lando Calrissian and Emilia Clarke, playing a yet unnamed role.
The movie, which doesn’t yet have an official name, already has a release date – May 25, 2018.
