I know you might not believe this, and I would’ve thought different a couple weeks ago, but I’ve never seen the kind of chemistry that exists between Dominique Provost Chalkley and Katherine Barrell from Wynonna Earp.
It’s mind blowing and we need more of it ASAP.
We got a chance to interview the stars of Wynonna Earp at San Diego Comic-Con and they had a lot to say about Earpers, the new challenges they’ve faced in Season 2, and (what you’ve really been waiting for) Wayhaught!
After touching the evil goo, we’ve seen a transformation in the youngest Earp. When asked about trying out singing, being evil, and that memorable cheerleading routine in the first half of Season 2, Dominque admitted that it was a bit thrilling, difficult, and nerve wrecking.
“I was very nervous to see how it was gonna be received. But I knew that Earpers are so supportive in everything we do. We really couldn’t have a more positive and loving fanbase. So, it was kind of the perfect platform to do it.”
Katherine faced new challenges as well in Season 2. She isn’t just the love interest. She’s her own women, fighting her own battles and trying to protect the town of Purgatory while in a relationship with Waverly.
“It’s so nice. Because as an actor you get worried about being put as the love interest and [only be able to say], “I have nothing to do other than make out with you.” (Please note that Dominique grabbed her hand and they started giggling while Dominique said, “Which she loves” and Katherine agreed.)
Check out the rest of the interview below if you want to watch Dominique and Katherine spiral into their own world where no one else existed but them, Wynonna Earp, and Wayhaught:
Wynonna Earp airs Friday at 10/11c on Syfy.
