'Wynonna Earp' SDCC 2017 Interview: Tamara Duarte and Tim Rozon

‘Wynonna Earp’ SDCC 2017 Interview: Tamara Duarte and Tim Rozon

We caught up with Wynonna Earp‘s Tamara Duarte and Tim Rozon to talk their relationship, their past, and how they’re constantly surprised at the direction that Emily has taken this show.

For Rozon, who plays Doc Holliday, every episode is a rollercoaster. “The best thing about this show is that when you’re watching it, commercial breaks become a time for fans, or us watching the show, to actually take a breath. And then you don’t know what’s going to happen between the next commercial breaks.”

It’s the same for his character. When asked about Wynonna’s pregnancy and what his character is going to be up to now that he has his revenge, he responded with, “I don’t know what’s going to happen from episode to episode. To even think about where Doc is going would be a mistake because that lady over there, Emily Andras, [points to Emily at another table] takes us on a roller coaster each episode.”

Tamara Duarte reflected a lot of what Rozon was saying when it came to her character Rosita Bustillos. Her character came out of nowhere to help Doc with Dolls with a clear backstory tied to Doc that we can’t wait to know about.

When asked about when we’re going to know a little more about Rosita’s history Tamara said that we would definitely be seeing some of Rosita’s story come to light, “There’s still so much mystery with Rosita and who she is, what she is, and no one knows, how I met Doc, or what our history is.”

And like Rozon, Tamara praised Emily and her writing. “And that’s what I love about Emily. There’s all of these stories that are just cliffhanger after cliffhanger, and what’s happening, what’s happening. It just keeps coming back for more.”

Wynonna Earp airs Friday at 10/11c on Syfy.

Lyra enjoys loud mouthed, damaged characters, with a penchant for rescuing people and drinking their sorrows away. When she isn’t splurging on Netflix shows she’s not so quietly ranting about Teen Wolf, The Walking Dead, and Supernatural!
