We caught up with Varun Saranga and Shamier Anderson from Syfy’s Wynonna Earp at San Diego Comic-Con to talk about Jeremy joining the Earper family, Dolls being a lizard/dragon person, and the blossoming bromances of Season 2.
Being the new one on a show is always rough. You’re not sure if you’ll fit in with the established group or how fans will perceive you. It’s scary. Fortunately, that wasn’t so for Saranga and his role as Jeremy. “It’s like everyone was so kind to me, loving, and generous. My part started really small, but just grew over the course of the whole season. And so I got to spend more and more time with them. I was here and there for a day and got to know them a bit but by the end I became really good friends with everyone.”
This friendship between the actors and the characters they play on screen has lead to a couple bromances that we never knew we wanted but are absolutely here for.
Shamier Anderson, who plays Dolls, commented on the relationships between the male characters and said, “The bromances are necessary. So you’ll definitely be seeing more bromances this season.”
And even with the news of Wynonna’s pregnancy and the tale spin that it’s thrown everyone into, Anderson believes that there’s still a chance for a bromance between Dolls and Doc as well.
Anderson explained, “The entire season, the relationship between Doc and Dolls fluctuates, given the circumstances of what is happening around. But I think to the core of it they really do like each other…but men are men. Sometime men gotta protect the nest.”
And since this is Wynonna Earp, she’ll show them that she’ll protect that nest herself as their bromance blossoms.
