We’re all about books becoming movies or television shows. We kinda wish that people were snapping up more contemporary books, but hey, fantasy books are just as equally amazing.
The newest book to be getting a television option is the fantasy book Bloodleaf by Crystal Smith. Clearleaf Media has snapped up the rights to the book.
No writer attached as of yet.
If you aren’t familiar with Bloodleaf, which I admit I am not, it’s about, “Princess Aurelia is a prisoner to her crown and the heir that nobody wants. Fearing her magic, the people have turned against her. After an assassination attempt, Aurelia must flee her country and disguise herself as a commoner in a distant land. As she hides in plain sight and perfects her magic, she begins to fall for a man who is forbidden to rule beside her. But the ghosts that haunt Aurelia refuse to abandon her, exposing a wicked plot that only she can defeat and forcing her to choose between the weight of the crown and the freedom of her new life.”
The book was published in March by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. It’s the first in a trilogy.
Looks like we’re going to have to pick up the book.
