We all have them, those couples we wish a show had given us, the OTPs that didn’t end up happening. They don’t even have to be couples the show was actually hinting at, but just two people we saw together and went, hmmm, this could work, for whatever reason.
Often chemistry, wink wink.
Now, of course, there’s a long list of couples we’re waiting for, but for this list, we tried to focus on the ones that are not going to happen for sure (because the show has ended), or the ones that, even if the show is still on air, seem like a long-shot at this point, and yet we still desperately want them.
So, without further ago, let’s go into the couples we wish had happened:
Bellarke, The 100
At this point we’re not truly sure what The 100 wants or plans to do with Bellarke, but platonic soulmates sounds like a copout after everything that’s happened. I mean, sure, if it weren’t for the longing looks, and the basically sacrificing everything for each other, and the way absolutely everyone knows what they mean to each other, maybe we’d buy it, but as it stands? Yeah, we just don’t believe in what you’re selling, The 100. Sorry, not sorry.
Sterek, Teen Wolf
This was THE ship of Teen Wolf and we’re still miffed that the show never explored the relationship between Stiles and Derek. They felt like ying and yang, opposites of the same coin, who could’ve been EPIC. Also, a huge part of the love for these two is the community that has built around them. From fanfic to fanart, there are some amazingly talented people who have brought to life and explored what could’ve been if these strong, funny, loudmouth, stoic, and badass men fell in love.
Bawson, Pitch
WE COULD HAVE HAD IT ALL with Bawson, we really could have. And we got so much just with the slow burn, with the companionship, with the support, the learning from each other, and then the show was prematurely axed and we were left crying about the possibilities, not just for Pitch, but for the couple that stole our hearts without ever truly becoming a couple.
Alvareider, One Day At A Time
Oh, how our hearts break. We’ll never know if One Day At A Time was planning to go there, or if they just wanted Penelope and Schneider to remain the best of friends, and that absolutely hurts our heart. Because these two were already each other’s person’s, in a way no one could compete with. Why wouldn’t they have taken the next step? Oh, yes, because Netflix hates us.
Can someone please #SaveODAAT? Please?
