A sequel to Cruel Intentions is coming…to television.
On Tuesday, NBC announced that it had ordered the pilot for Cruel Intentions, which will follow Sebastian’s son as he’s introduced into the world his father was once involved in.
The pilot is based on the film starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Phillippe and Selma Blair.
Here’s the official logline:
Cruel Intentions picks up over 15 years after the hit movie left off. It follows the beautiful and cunning Kathryn Merteuil as she vies for control of Valmont International as well as the soul of Bash Casey, the son of her brother, who was the late Sebastian Valmont, and Annette Hargrove. Upon discovering his late father’s legacy in a hidden journal, Bash is introduced to a world of sex, money, power and corruption he never could have imagined.
I think we can all agree with Gellar needs to reprise her role as the sinister Kathryn. There’s just no one that can do it better than her. Plus, revivals with the original stars are all the rage. They know what the people want.
