Wattpad Writer of The Week: DimpleFeels

This weeks Wattpad writer of the week is Dimple Feels. She writes 5SOS fan fiction and keeps us captivated with her stories. Here’s her interview:

When did you start writing on Wattpad?

I created my account in 2012 and started posting soon after.

What inspired you to write on Wattpad?

I’d been writing quite a lot before I made an account, but had nowhere to post my works. I needed somewhere to get the stories living inside my head out there, and I saw other writers getting feedback, which I thought was cool.

What has writing on Wattpad taught you?

It has helped me to develop my personal writing style, and also taught me how to take on board criticism and feedback.

Why did you choose to write Fan Fiction?

Because I feel it’s easier to reach out to people that way. Also, I find interacting with people that like the same things as me so amazing. I’m able to make friends that love the same things as me through books, which is great.
It has helped me to develop my personal writing style, and also taught me how to take on board criticism and feedback.

What is your favorite part of writing Fan Fiction?

That I can reach out to people that are practically the same as me. I’ve made so many friends through wattpad and fanfiction.

What fandom do you think would be the hardest fandom to write in?

Not sure, I think that if you’re in a fandom it would come easily. I guess, writing a Harry Potter fanfic would be difficult for me because JK Rowling is so amazing.

What’s been the best compliment you received from a fan?

I like comments that compliment the way I’ve written something or how I’ve built a character. But I also love how one person can comment a song lyric and people just keep it going – that’s so fun.

Who are your favorite published authors?

F. Scott Fitzgerald and George Orwell. And Roald Dahl because his books were my childhood.

What advice do you have for Wattpad writers?

Don’t focus so much on the number of votes and the comments – write because you love writing. The rest will come.

Who is your favorite Wattpad writer?

I don’t really have a favourite, I read so many stories if I was to say the list would be endless.

Tell us about your favorite story that you have written and why people should be reading it.

Violet Skies is by far the best story I’ve written. I think people should read it because it’s written with a lot of emotion and many experiences from my own life such as dealing with anxiety and panic attacks are in there, portrayed in a (hopefully) very real and non cliché way.

“Oh, and Calum’s still a virgin,” said Luke, a wide smirk on his face. “But that’s not exactly news.”

“I’m not surprised.”

“Rude,” Calum mumbled, rolling his eyes.

Michael looked at Calum, who was crunching his brows together, his lower lip slightly jutted out. He wasn’t happy with the way they were talking about him, Michael could tell. Remembering the conversation they had had earlier that morning, he felt kind of guilty. “Have you talked to Hayley?”

“Loudsies. The blonde. The one in the flat below you. Who else?”

“Oh,” Calum mumbled. “Not really.”

“Calum is blushing,” Luke observed.

“I’m not.”

“Luke shut up,” Michael said, but it was evident even in the dim lighting how Calum’s face actually had gone a few shades redder. “So, the girl from downstairs, eh?” he asked, just to see how his friend would react. And sure enough, when she was mentioned once again, Calum’s eyes flew to the side, as he squirmed in his seat. So it was confirmed – Calum liked the girl from downstairs. The loud one.
