Colton Haynes to Guest on 'Arrow' Season 5

While Arsenal might’ve bid Team Arrow and Star City goodbye at the end of season 3, Roy Harper lives on just out of reach in the Arrowverse making him ripe for a return when possible.
Colton Haynes made a guest spot during this season (“Unchained,” episode 4×12) as his character returned for a storyline intertwined with the Calculator, who was introduced as Felicity Smoak’s father.
During the Justice Squad Convention (via Heroic Hollywood) this weekend in France, Haynes told the crowd on hand that we can expect to see him return for multiple episodes in season 5.

“I get to come back on a few episodes of Arrow next year.”

Haynes recently opened up about his late-season 3 departure from Arrow in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, where he discussed putting his mental and physical health before his career, which was his reason for leaving Arrow as a series regular.

One of the great things about Haynes’ exit was that Roy wasn’t killed off but left out there somewhere in the Arrowverse with the potential to return when possible, as evidenced with his cameo in season 4.

With Haynes noting that he’ll be returning for a “few episodes” that indicates that perhaps he might see a decent arc over the course of several episodes. While he’s not returning as a series regular, any opportunity to have Colton back on Arrow is one we’ll gladly take.

What are your thoughts on Colton Haynes’ return to Arrow?
