Yesterday we got to see the Potter family, and today, it’s time for the Weasleys. At least some of them.
Ron and Hermione, Harry’s best friends and his companions through most of the Harry Potter Series got married after Hogwarts and had two kids, Rose and Hugo. Like with the Potters, the whole family is not featured on the released cast photos, only Rose, who’s Albus Potter’s age, and attends Hogwarts with him.
Neither Rose nor Albus is wearing their House Robes, so we don’t yet know in which House they were sorted, though it’s likely we will find out as soon as next week, as previews begin at London’s Palace Theater on June 7th.
The official website has this to say about the plot of the play:
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is one play presented in two Parts, which are intended to be seen in order on the same day (matinee and evening) or on two consecutive evenings.
Paul Thornley and Noma Dumezweni will play Ron and Hermione, respectively. Rose Granger-Weasley, will be played by Cherrelle Skeete.
Final cast photos will be released on Thursday.
