The CW’s supply of vampires is going nowhere with the announcement of a TV series based on The Lost Boys movie.
According to Deadline, the network is taking on the 1987 Warner Bros movie with Rob Thomas, creator of Veronica Mars and iZombie, at the helm. They’re going to spin the film into seven seasons, in the recently popular anthology style. Each season will span 10 years with a core cast of The Lost Boys being season regulars.
This opens up The CW to telling wide story arcs with different humans, settings, and baddies every single season. And while The Vampire Diaries and The Originals have tried to explore what it means to be immortal, with their copious long haired flashbacks, we’ll actually get to see it play out before our eyes, a season at a time. Imagine getting a chance to see how baddies like David, famously played by Keifer Sutherland, actually became the vampire we love to hate? That is, if they decide to go down that route. *crossing fingers*
We’re looking forward to fabulous hair, family angst, relationship drama, tons of brooding looks, and laughs. It’s Rob Thomas after all. The laughs and stellar writing are expected! Maybe even some special guest appearances?!
