Remember the old lady from Titanic and how she feebly said, “It’s been 84 years?” That’s all of us when it comes to The Walking Dead‘s “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be.”
We’ve done our waiting for the Season 7 premiere. We want answers and tonight we’re going to get them! Could it be Michonne? Could it be Sasha? Abraham? Or what if it’s more than one? *commence heavy breathing*
One fascinating thing to note is that the title of The Walking Dead premiere is a throwback to the Season 1 finale with the CDC scientist Dr. Jenner. Right before he blows up the CDC, Rick thanks Jenner for allowing them to leave. Jenner, already having suffered through the apocalypse, honestly answers with, “The day will come when you won’t be.”
That day has come and his name is Negan.

Synopsis
