When a press release pops up in your inbox and it includes the words Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants – but isn’t news of a third movie, I normally feel left down. There is that moment where I fall to the ground, ready to huddle up and scream to God, WHY ME. Cause you know obviously, it’s all about me.
Or any other fan of the series.
But the announcement is that the author has a new YA book coming, THE WHOLE THING TOGETHER.
THE WHOLE THING TOGETHER tells the story of teenagers Sasha and Ray, who share three half-sisters and a bedroom in their beloved Wainscott beach house, where their families have alternated spending their summer weeks since the two were born. Sasha’s father and Ray’s mother used to be married and are parents to their sisters Emma, Quinn, and Mattie. But a bitter divorce has caused the pair to not be on speaking terms or able to be in the same room together, and as a result, Sasha and Ray have never met, only getting to know each other through the room they share and the belongings they leave behind. When they meet unexpectedly, they begin an unconventional love story that readers of all ages will be rooting for.
The novel is part of a three-book deal negotiated by Beverly Horowitz, Senior Vice President, Publisher, Delacorte Press and Jennifer Rudolph Walsh of William Morris Endeavor, on behalf of Ann Brashares.
We can’t wait. Like we devour her writing and can’t wait to read this. Ann Brashares wrote the books that defined friendship to us.
Now if we could just get a release date….
