Theo James Comments On That Divergent Finale Situation

We’d like to feel like the series had any more legs to stand on, but it just doesn’t feel like it does. It’s an example of what happens when you stray too far away the source material and disrespect the fandom. We sometimes don’t think that what fandom is – the power of it – is something that people don’t understand.

It’s long been obvious that the Divergent Fandom disconnected from the franchise. And with the studio deciding to not finish with the last film and instead turn it into a TV property – one has to wonder if they think that the fandom will follow them.

Especially when the actors won’t.

Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller made it known long ago that they had no intention of doing television and now Theo James has made his thoughts known.

“I think it’s a shame that we can’t finish the story,” he told TooFab, “but I think it’s evolving in a place where the actors that have been in the three movies probably won’t be in whatever it evolves to in the future.”

We can’t say that we’re shocked. Quite honestly, we figure at this point it will be a reboot if they do anything at all.

We’re personally for just letting it go if they don’t make Ascendant.
