What’s better than bringing back one of the originals? Dick Van Dyke has been added to the cast that already includes, Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins, Emily Mortimer and Ben Whishaw as the now grown-up Jane and Michael Banks, Colin Firth, Angela Lansbury, Meryl Streep, and Lin-Manuel Miranda as Jack, a lamplighter.
It’s not clear what type of role that Van Dyke will take on and how big his part will be, but we’ll take it.
We’re excited for it. In the sequel, Mary Poppins will reunite with the now grown-up Jane and Michael Banks and helps them “re-discover the magic that she brought into their lives as children.”
Mary Poppins Returns makes its way to theaters on December 25, 2018.
