The Walking Dead Sneak Peek: Roadblocks, Bombs, Oh My!

Alexandria is making it’s way to the Savior base in The Walking Dead‘s new sneak peek ‘Roadblock.’ Rick, Michonne, Jesus, Carl, Tara, Sasha, and Rosita spot the Savior home right before coming to the first of many traps set by the Saviors.

The road is barricaded with a line of cars, each perfectly situated so that whoever comes upon them is stuck with 3 options: abandon their cars and head out on foot, move the cars or leave and go back home. Rick & Co. have turned a corner since 7A and are done running from the Negan threat.

With Michonne keeping a look out, she discovers that this roadblock is but only the first trap set by Negan to warn off anyone coming to the Savior base. Further on down the road two cars have a wire running between them, stacks of dynamite tied to them, and a switch at the end.

The Walking Dead first hinted at this a month ago when they released a set of bizarre images teasing 7B. In it they had a photo with a stack of dynamite sticks tied to wire just like in the sneak peek. What could the rest of the photos tease about what traps lay ahead for Rick & Co.? Cantalope fight? Rubber duck attack? Check out those images here.

Read the synopsis for 7B below:

Rick’s group will find out yet again that the world isn’t what they thought it was. It’s much bigger than anything they’ve seen so far. While they have a singular purpose – to defeat Negan – it won’t come easy. More importantly, victory will require more than Alexandria. They need the numbers of the Kingdom and the Hilltop, but, similar to how Rick felt, Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Gregory (Xander Berkeley) do not want bloodshed. To convince them otherwise will take more than speeches. The lengths Rick and the group will have to go to in order to find weapons, food and new fighters is nothing short of remarkable.

We’ll meet new survivors in incredible places. We’ll see Rick and the group tested in ways we’ve never seen before. We’ll see treachery from people we trust.  Rick is confident as he will see his group and many others band together with the common goal of taking down Negan.  But no amount of planning will prepare the group for all-out war with Negan and his army.

The Walking Dead returns February 12th at 9/8c on AMC.
