Welcome to another Sunday of talking about the shows that made us laugh, cry, go awww and, of course, look around and wonder what in the world was happening. If it made us feel things, whether they were good, or bad, then this is where we talk about it. This is where you tell us if you agree. This is where we let it all out.
So, without further ado, here are these week’s picks:
OTP of the Week
Lizzie: Captain Swan takes the cake (like the wedding cake they’re gonna have soon since THEY’RE GETTING MARRIED!!!), because they’re back together in the physical form and proposal #2 was beautiful – with Killian reaffirming the most important thing for someone who’s been abandoned as much as Emma has – that he’ll always be by her side, but Snowing is – for the first time in a while, just as important to the episode and the story-line as Emma and her pirate. Snow and David have always been the standard, the thing every other couple aspires to be, but in this episode, they were more than that – they were a couple giving us actual feels instead of just the couple we know is perfect. Kudos, Once Upon A Time. Kudos.
(Also, this category is done, no one else even comes close. This week, Captain Swan rules.)
Moment that made you collapse into a puddle of FEELS
Lizzie: Can you tell I had a lot of Once Upon A Time feels this week? I have to go with the moment where Snow and Charming are looking at young Emma, the moment where, for a second there, you almost hope they’re going to change it all, and then they don’t. Because, in that moment, as Snow cried and Charming marveled at how beautiful she was, I didn’t even care about continuity. I just wanted them to walk through that door and hug their daughter.
Charles: Josh and Larry’s goodbye on Trial and Error. The basic thrust of the show is man (Larry) is accused of murder and a lawyer (Josh) tries to get him free. It’s was at times completely silly but through it all Josh and Larry bonded. And seeing Larry say goodbye to the lawyer who grew to be the son he never had gave me tears in my eyes. Trial and Error wasn’t a perfect comedy but it did deliver a heartwarming/heartbreaking moment.
Lyra: Mace dying on Agents of Shield has emotionally compromised me. I didn’t expect much when it came to him. He was Phil’s replacement and I brushed him off and thought he was going to be cliched and a nuisance. He wasn’t either of those. He was honorable, kind, and stood up for people. And with every passing episode I loved him more and more. I don’t know if I missed it or maybe they never clarified…but I didn’t know Aida had him in the real world! I thought he was relatively safe and a construct of Aida’s crazy algorithms. God…I need a moment. I feel the feels coming again!
And to think…in the real world he pretended to be an Inhuman protecting people from rubble when he was just hiding. In Aida’s world he actually was an Inhuman and he saved people from rubble. He became the man he always wanted to be in this *looks around and glares at the world that has caused my faves to die or be separated* stupid creation of Aida’s.
Quote of the Week
Lizzie: Killian: Swan, I know that you face an uncertain future. But there’s one thing I want you to be certain of. I will always, always be by your side. So. Emma Swan, what do you say? Will you marry me?
Emma: Yes. – Once Upon A Time
David: I will always find you.
Snow: One day, Emma will find us. – Once Upon A Time
Nora: “Open your eyes, Peyton! It isn’t obvious? It’s because I’m in love with you!” -Ravi, iZombie
Charles : “Rosa, we are always going to be friends” – Jake, Brooklyn 99
Lyra: “Nevertheless, she persisted.” – Faux Fitz, Agents of Shield
WTF Moment of the Week
Danielle: When Noah found out about Rosalee’s pregnancy on Underground, in the worst way possible!! He found out when Rosalee was being held hostage by a white slave owner. Noah was so close to shooting the slave owner to free his fiancee, when Rosalee called out, “Stop! I’m carrying a child!” WHAT!! What an awful way to tell your man that you’re pregnant with his child. And why did she wait so long? Why didn’t she tell him when they were passing out Christmas presents in the house? Also, she got branded by the slave owner on the cheek anyway. The whole scene was a waste.
Also, when James, Rosalee’s little brother, yelled for help when she came back to Macon’s house to rescue him. That was so messed up!! He knew she would come back soon, but he still exposed her because he wanted to stay. Rosalee didn’t even have time to tell him that the world he’s living in now is only temporary. It’s not going to be long-term when he’s a slave.
Nora: Spencer, it’s been seven seasons of you being tortured by A, and I understand you just had the mother of all parental bombshells dropped on you, but in what world did it seem like a good idea to start playing A.D’s twisted Endgame board game alone? I know you’re hurting, but c’mon. At least wait for the other Liars to get there so you can do stupid things together. Side note, I’m really going to miss you girls, even when you’re stupid.
Charles: The air conditioner crushing on Fargo. I’m use to wild stuff happening on Fargo but seeing Nikki Swango precisely cut the air conditioner out of the wall and drop it onto some druggie’s head was a sight to see. Nikki and her dimwitted boyfriend are the main bad guys this season and if this is any indication, this season will be just as wild as the first two.
