Fangirlish’s FEELS of the Week: August 13th – August 19th

Welcome to another Sunday of talking about the shows that made us laugh, cry, go awww and, of course, look around and wonder what in the world was happening. If it made us feel things, whether they were good, or bad, then this is where we talk about it. This is where you tell us if you agree. This is where we let it all out.

So, without further ado, here are these week’s picks:

Badass Female Character of the Week

ALL of the #Clace feels.

Danielle: Obviously when Clary beat Valentine’s ass in the season two finale of Shadowhunters, my inner fangirl cheerleader intensified!! After spending so long being saved by her male friends and “brothers”, she finally got her turn to kick some ass! Granted, it was due to the torment and grief of “losing” Jace, but she didn’t back down under Valentine’s grasp. She held her own, and got what she deserved in the end.

Nora: I have a feeling Danielle and I are going to have some similar answers this week. My badass female character is also Clary in the season 2 finale of Shadowhunters. Watching her FINALLY beat Valentine was such a satisfying moment. I was cheering for her as she finally got the better of him and stabbed him. It’s an iconic moment and we get a taste of a darker Clary, which was incredible. Her grief drives her motives in this scene. Kat McNamara does an incredible job and Clary definitely earn the title of badass female character.

Erin: For me it would be the Jane on The Bold Type. Why? Because this week, I feel like she’s finally started to grow into her own woman and that my friends – is awesome. She’s not weak, she never has been, but now she finally see’s it. For me, growing to the point where you can see your worth is a superpower. Growing to the point where you see that you are badass. So my hat goes off to you Jane.

OTP of the Week

Nora: Magnus and Alec on the Shadowhunters season 2 finale. The duo have been going through a lot towards the end of the season and it was emotional to see the two of them back together. Alec approaches Magnus at the party and tells him he can’t live without him. My emotions. Malec is such an OTP and this moment was perfect between them. Alec’s always been a little more reserved when showing his emotions, so this was a great moment. Also Clary and Jace were another amazing OTP this week. They were so in sync as they fought Valentine. The “I love you,” the kiss, everything Clace this week destroyed me.

Lori: Episode 10 of season 2 of Wynonna Earp ended on a sort-of cliffhanger with the Purgatory crew banished to an alternate universe. Waverly is planning her impending wedding to some random guy (who cares what his name is) and Nicole is still Sheriff and still pining after Waverly. There’s still swoon-worthy chemistry between them and, as it turns out, even in an alternate universe they still end up together!

Lizzie: Can I go BROTP of the week and say that the Jon/Gendry moment on Game of Thrones was the beginning of the friendship I didn’t know I’d always needed. The teasing, Gendry believing Jon, no question, the offer to join the fight, and the parallels to their fathers – it was just too much.

Moment that made you collapse into a puddle of FEELS

Danielle: I knew what was coming on this week’s Shadowhunters season 2 finale, but I still was not ready for Jace to die. I’d read books 1-5 a long time ago, so I’d vaguely remembered Jace’s death and feeling utterly gutted about it. But seeing it on screen was a whole different thing; that crushed my spirit!! I was sobbing along with Clary; I just couldn’t stop crying. But then The Angel came and granted Clary a wish to bring Jace back, and I was like…

Nora: I’m with Danielle on this one. I was not prepared to watch Jace die, especially right in front of Clary. It was emotional to say the least. I was gutted watching Clary realize she couldn’t help him and then Jace whispering the faint “I love you.” I was hysterically sobbing and didn’t stop. Even after the Angel brought Jace back, my tears just turned to happy tears. Also, I have to give big props Dominic and Kat in this scene because man, that was some powerful acting.

Lori: When Charles said, “I’m just so grateful that you are in my life,” on Younger, I almost became a blubbering mess. I heart Josh and Josh and Eliza but, come on! Liza and Charles are meant to be together in bed and not just on desks.

Chloe: Pretty much the entire episode of Game of Thrones? I’ll narrow it down to two moments: Jon bonding with Drogon, and Jon and Gendry igniting a bromance. Give me more of all of that.

Erin: Younger. OMG – when Charles told Liza that he was so grateful that she was in his life, I broke into tears. I want a man that appreciates me that much. I want a man that looks at me that way. A man that knows that I am worth that patience. God, I love them.

Superhero of the Week

Nora: For me, it’s Tatiana Maslany as all the Leda clones in the series finale of Orphan Black. From Sarah kicking butt and taking names as she defeats Westmorland to Cosima tracking down the other Leda clones to inject them with the cure. It was just an emotional rollercoaster and Tatiana Maslany is the TV superhero we all deserve. Each clone was a superhero in their own right (and even showed some weakness). Helena became a superhero Mom, Alison learned to take care of her sisters and so much more. The Leda clones will forever be my superheroes. Thank you Sarah, Cosima, Helena, Alison, Krystal and all the others!

Lyra: Doc Holliday on Wynonna Earp. Doc confronted the person he could have been without Wynonna and (I think) admitted to himself for the first time how important she is to him. As soon as he got out of that well he went looking for her and didn’t stop no matter what obstacle he faced. He was a man on a mission to reunite his ragtag family and even members of said family weren’t going to stop him.

Quote of the Week

Ugh our #Malec heart.

Lizzie: Tormund: How many queens are there now?

Jon Snow: Two.

Tormund: And you need to convince the one with the dragons or the one who fucks her brother?

Jon Snow: Both. – Game of Thrones

Nora: Jane: I want love there, I said it

Kat: I want to be a better boss lady

Sutton: I want this thing with Richard to be less complicated. And Nachos. –The Bold Type

Danielle: “I don’t think I can live without you.” – Alec to Magnus, Shadowhunters

Chloe: “Dragons are where our partnership ends.” – Bronn, Game of Thrones

Erin: “I’m just so grateful that you are in my life” – Charles, Younger

WTF Moment of the Week

Lizzie: The whole business with Game of Thrones needing to establish, yet again, a rivalry between Sansa and Arya, one that, by necessity, could only work if these two didn’t actually share anything with each other. I know the show needed some drama south of the wall, but come on …Sansa and Arya are sisters, and it’s been a hell of a long time. They’ve lost most of their family. Re-kindling their youthful feud is probably not be high of the list of things either of them wants to do. Or, it wouldn’t be, if, you know …this show actually listened to common sense.

Danielle: Gabe and Cortney’s little makeout session on The Fosters was completely unnecessary and gross!! I should have seen it coming, since Gabe didn’t get super-angry with her when he’d found her in his garage-apartment the previous episode. Also, he gave Cortney’s son Mason a donut to make friends. But still, ewwww, no, why them?! Considering that Brandon has finally got a good thing with Grace, why would the writers mess that up by bringing problematic Cortney back? And to end up with Gabe is disgusting, not to mention their huge age-gap. Cancel it, Bradley Bredeweg (creator/writer of the show).

Chloe: The end of this week’s Teen Wolf – which saw werewolf siblings Brett and Lori killed by a Hunter’s car and Liam exposed as a supernatural to pretty much the entire town. It really kicked the conflict up a notch and set the stage for a whole new level of crazy.

Erin: For me, the relationship with Arya and Sansa – the way that they acted when reunited. I felt like it’s not the way that they should/would act at all. THEY ARE SISTERS. It’s been a long time. It made it seem like Sansa just didn’t care. That pissed me off. Not everyone has to hate each other dudes.
