Exclusive Cover Reveal: ‘These Vengeful Souls’ by Tarun Shanker & Kelly Zekas

Beautiful book covers are something that we love, so when we were asked to do a cover reveal for These Vengeful Souls, we of course said yes.

Because this cover is beautiful!

Plus it’s set in England you know we’re obsessed with that.

What’s it about? Here’s the synopsis. “England, 1883. On the run with the grieving Sebastian Braddock, Evelyn wants two things: to be reunited with her friends, and to get revenge on the evil Captain Goode. Not only has he misused his and Sebastian’s powers to rack up a terrible death toll, but he’s also completely destroyed any hope of Evelyn or her friends regaining the life they once knew. Evelyn is determined to make Captain Goode pay for what he’s done, but is her revenge worth risking the lives of Sebastian and her friends? Or is it better to flee the city and focus on staying alive? And with the Captain spreading lies about Sebastian in an attempt to flush them out of hiding and turn the populace against them, does she even have a choice at all?

Sounds amazing right? We think so too.

The book is written by Tarun Shanker & Kelly Zekas.

We were lucky enough to get a quote from the authors about the cover and some insight to the book, “We’ve been in love with the object theme for this trilogy’s set of beautiful covers and, for this last one, we’re so pleased to have a piece from the world of Victorian mourning jewelry. The era was known for its strict and elaborate social conventions for mourning the deceased, and one particularly unique trend at the time was to get a brooch, necklace, or ring made with the hair of a loved one to serve as a memento. As readers may recall, a thing or two went horribly, horribly wrong at the end of These Ruthless Deeds, so we found it to be a perfect image for These Vengeful Souls as Evelyn has to deal with the aftermath of those events.”

THESE VENGEFUL SOULS hits bookshelves February 20, 2018.

Kelly Zekas, a New York University graduate, writes, acts, and reads in New York City. YA is her absolute favorite thing on earth (other than cupcakes), and she has spent many hours crying over fictional deaths. She also started reading Harlequin romances at a possible too-early age (twelve?) and still loves a good historical romance.

Mild-mannered assistant by day, milder-mannered writer by night, Tarun Shanker is a New York University graduate currently living in Waltham, MA. His idea of paradise is a place where kung fu movies are projected on clouds, David Bowie’s music fills the air, and chai tea flows freely from fountains.
