We’re fascinated by Meghan Markle and we can’t wait for the day that her and Prince Harry get married. Look, we know that they aren’t engaged, but we’re hoping.
We love fairytales.
But what we are really torn about is that Meghan’s ex-husband, Trevor Engleson, has decided to make a show that is kinda well… too close to home.
He’s working on a show for Fox, where a man is divorced and left for a Prince. Now, we know that him and Markle were divorced way before Harry, but it’s kinda shitty that this show – they are gonna constantly going to compare this character to real life Meghan.
That’s what makes it not okay. The show idea came from a conversation that Engleson was having with a friend about what would have happened if he and Markle would have had kids and they’d have to share custody.
Sure, is it a premise that we would love to watch? Yes. But being as it hits so close to his life, not cool.
The shows premise, “Divorce is hard. Sharing custody is harder. Sharing custody with the British Royal family when your wife marries a prince, in the unforgiving spotlight of London’s tabloid media, is next level.”
Yes, we know it’s fictional. Yes we know that. But lets be real, no matter what happens – people will assume that the character is Markle. So we’ll keep reiterating, the lead characters are not based on Markle or Engelson.
We’ll see what happens.
