We’re in week 5 and the crazy has sort of settled in the NFL, and by sort of settled we mean we’ve gotten used to the fact that the NFL is just going to be wacky this year. Maybe, come playoffs, that will make for more interesting matchups. Or, maybe Kansas City will run away with it all.
But, how likely is that?
Here are our NFL Players of the Week for Week 5:
Offensive Player: Alex Smith, QB, Kansas City Chiefs
I’m going to give it to you for one week, Alex. One week. Especially because your team is the only undefeated team and you did look like more of an elite QB than a game manager this game. Still not sure if you are, but you get one week.
Defensive Player: The Jaguars Pass Defense
Five interceptions for Big Stupid Ben was something no one saw coming – not even I, who often let myself get carried away by my hate. But hey, I’ll take it and celebrate.
Offensive Player: Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers
Rodgers is the king of guy you either love or hate – but either way, you gotta admit basically going in hard for the TD at the end of the game when most other QBs would have gone for the FG and the tie is quintessential Rodgers, and a reason why he’s one of the top QBs in the NFL.
Defensive Player: Seattle Seahawks Defense
Five turnovers and a win this team desperately needed. Now the question is: can they keep it up? We shall see.
