‘The Blacklist’ 5×03 Photos: ‘Miss Rebecca Thrall’

NBC has released the photos for tonight’s new episode of The Blacklist, “Miss Rebecca Thrall” and it looks to be another case of the week episode that will also focus on Red’s continuing quest to rebuild his empire. Last week’s episode was a welcome return to the old style of The Blacklist, without all of the worn out dramatic plot lines, so I’m hoping that “Miss Rebecca Thrall” continues that trend.

As it has been an ongoing plot thread for the first two episodes of the new season, I’m guessing that the suitcase that Tom has and Red desperately wants to find, will be addressed again, and hopefully move forward substantially in determining why it is important, and why Red wants to keep it a secret so badly.

It’s also good to see Smokey Putnam back, as he is now part of Red’s new criminal empire, and was a welcome addition to the cast in the season 5 premiere. It seems that his character is intended for a bit of comic relief and to serve as a more gentler side to Red’s increasingly violent tendencies. Sometimes characters created for this purpose fall flat, but I liked Smokey Putnam right away, largely due to Michael Aronov’s portrayal of him.

From the synopsis, it looks like Ressler’s problems with Henry Prescott are only going to get worse as he deals with the threat of blackmail and tarnishing his reputation as a model FBI agent. I just hope that he doesn’t let things get too out of control before asking for help from the task force.

“Miss Rebecca Thrall” looks like it’s going to be another enjoyable classic task force episode, so check out the gallery and read the synopsis below to get ready for tonight!

While the Task Force investigates a series of suspicious police shootings, Agent Ressler is distracted by increasing external pressures. With his back up against the wall, Red drafts Tom in executing an elaborate plan to help re-establish his criminal reputation. Michael Aronov, Clark Middleton, Aida Turturro and Sarah Wynter guest star.

The Blacklist airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
