‘The Blacklist’ 5×04 Photos: ‘The Endling’

NBC has released the photos for this week’s episode of  The Blacklist, “The Endling.” From the trailer last Wednesday, we saw that this was yet another blacklister focused episode, this time on a mother desperately trying to save her child, no matter what the cost. Season 5 is already off to a very strong start, with 3 new episodes so far that have already been better than almost all of season 4, and the pattern looks to be continuing this week.

The gallery for “The Endling” is a special treat, as Ressler is featured in a majority of the photos. The amount of Ressler we’re getting to see this season is making me so incredibly happy! I was really worried through all of last season, as it felt like his role was being reduced more and more every episode, possibly for Diego Klattenhoff’s eventual exit from the show, and a major character death that I wouldn’t have survived. My fears are assuaged now however, as he has his own complex character arch that promises to be developed over the course of the season, and his amount of screen time has already increased drastically. This is the main thing that I had been hoping for from season 5, and my wish has already been fulfilled, so no matter what happens the rest of the season, it’s already a win in my book.

I’m sure “The Endling” will continue to address the rebuilding of Red’s empire, and Tom’s race against the clock to discover the secret behind the suitcase full of bones before Red finds him out as well.

Check out the gallery  and read the synopsis for “The Endling”  above, and I’ll see you all back here on Wednesday for an all new Blacklist!

Liz and the Task Force hunt for an elusive criminal who will stop at nothing to destroy some of the world’s most precious treasures. Meanwhile, a surprise encounter leads a cash-strapped Red toward a new business opportunity, and Tom takes action to investigate the bones in the suitcase. Poorna Jagannathan guest stars.

The Blacklist airs Wednesdays at 8/9c on NBC.
