Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner Sign On To Adapt ‘Genuine Fraud’

I loved GIRLS. It was a good television show. Now, I know that not everyone likes Lena Dunham, but personally, I think she’s a genius.

With GIRLS being off the air, what is Lena doing next? Well we know a possibility. Jenni Konner and Lena Dunham have signed on to produce a movie adaptation of E. Lockhart’s book, Genuine Fraud.

We’re kind of stoked about this, because the book was amazing. If you aren’t familiar with the book, here’s the synopsis –

The story of a young woman whose diabolical smarts are her ticket into a charmed life. But how many times can someone reinvent themselves? You be the judge.

Imogen is a runaway heiress, an orphan, a cook, and a cheat.
Jule is a fighter, a social chameleon, and an athlete.
An intense friendship. A disappearance. A murder, or maybe two.
A bad romance, or maybe three.
Blunt objects, disguises, blood, and chocolate. The American dream, superheroes, spies, and villains.
A girl who refuses to give people what they want from her.
A girl who refuses to be the person she once was.

We’re stoked about the possibility of Genuine Fraud being turned into a film.
