Players of the Week – NFL Week 8

Week 8 is over! The Chiefs look good again, the Browns are as bad as we expected, the Dolphins are the Dolphins and yes, the Eagles are the best team in the NFL.

Welcome to the crazy that is the 2017-2018 season. We don’t understand it either, and we certainly can’t predict it, but that doesn’t mean we can’t sort of enjoy it. It’s like watching a train-wreck.

You just can’t look away.

This is the easy part, though, the one that deals in facts. So, without further ado, here are our Players of the Week for week 8:

Offensive Player: LeSean McCoy, RB, Buffalo Bills

McCoy completely dominated, running over the Oakland Raiders defense and getting both the easy yards and the though ones, particularly when his team needed it the most. More importantly, he’s making the Bills look like a contender. The Bills!

Defensive Player: Jacksonville Jaguars Defense

Do the Jaguars actually have the best defense in football? Don’t answer this, the answer is just too painful for those of us who didn’t trust this team at all before the season started. Numbers don’t lie, though.

Offensive Player: Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle Seahawks

Wilson hasn’t been as consistent lately as he would have wished, but this game served a reminder for all of those who’d dismissed him from the ranks of elite QBs that he can, indeed, carry a team. Oh yes, and a reminder that this team can actually win a high scoring game.

Defensive Player: New Orleans Saint Defense

Yes, I said what I said. I take full responsibility. Come on, the Saints are winning games without Drew Brees throwing touchdown passes. You remember the last time that happened? Me either!
