Hannah Waddingham Joins The Cast of ‘Krypton’

You’re going to hear us talk a lot about Krypton, because we are absolutely in love with this show. Now, you know that we can’t get enough DC shows and if we’re going to learn more about Superman’s family, we’re all for it.

We’ve been waiting for more information on Krypton after getting so much on it last year at San Diego Comic Con. It was announced a few weeks ago that that the premiere would take place March 21st.

Krypton doesn’t tell the story of Superman. It takes place two generations before the destruction of Krypton, and follows Sag-El, the grandfather of The Man of Steel. He will be faced with the decision to, “save his home planet or let it be destroyed in order to restore the fate of his future grandson. With Krypton’s leadership in disarray and the House of El ostracized, Seg finds himself in a difficult position. He must redeem his family’s honor and protect the ones he loves while being challenged by familiar DC characters Brainiac (Blake Ritson) and Earthly time-traveler Adam Strange (Shaun Sipos).”

There is an addition to the cast of Krypton and if you watch Game of Thrones it may be a face that you know. Hannah Waddingham is joining the Superman prequel series Krypton in a recurring role, and it’s a role that has been traditionally male. She will be playing Jax-Ur, who is formerly one of Krypton’s greatest scientists, but is now leading Krypton’s underground terrorist unit, Black Zero.

Krypton premieres March 21 on Syfy. Will you be watching?
