Sitting down to watch Siren, we’re not sure of what to expect. Hell, we’re not sure of our thoughts on it at all. But we do know we like Alex Roe, so we’re interested.
Freeform has released the photos for the pilot and we’re kinda more confused than ever. What will this show be about and will it be worth putting our time into?
What if there were something sinister swimming beneath the sea’s surface? In Freeform’s new original drama “Siren,” the coastal town of Bristol Cove, known for its legend of once being home to mermaids, is turned upside down when a mysterious girl (Eline Powell) appears and begins wreaking havoc upon the quaint village. Using their resources, marine biologists Ben (Alex Roe) and Maddie (Fola Evans-Akingbola) must work together to find out who and what drove this mermaid out of her home, and are there more like her out there?
The series stars Eline Powell (“King Arthur: Legend of the Sword”) as Ryn, Alex Roe (“The 5th Wave”) as Ben Pownall, Fola Evans-Akingbola (“Game of Thrones”) as Maddie Bishop, Ian Verdun (“Lucifer”) as Xander McClure, Rena Owen (“Star Wars” Episodes II and III) as Helen Hubbell and Sibo Mlambo (“Teen Wolf”) as Donna.
“Siren” is based on a story by Eric Wald and Dean White who both serve as executive producers. Emily Whitesell (“Finding Carter”) is on board as showrunner and executive producer. Brad Luff, Nate Hopper and RD Robb are also attached as executive producers.
