We’re only one episode away from The Blacklist season finale, and NBC has released the photos for “Lawrence Dane Devlin.” Last week’s episode ended on a cliffhanger as Samar was taken captive by a violent cult, and the Task Force is beginning a desperate search for her, one that will hopefully end in Samar’s safe return tonight. We still don’t know why the cult kidnapped her, but I’m sure we’ll find out pretty much at the beginning of “Lawrence Dane Devlin” tonight. Samar still being kidnapped means that Aram will be out doing more field work, because god knows he’s not going to stop until she’s found. It’s been awesome to see more of Aram’s tough side rather than his usual position sitting behind a computer. He’s a vital part of the team, but it’s always nice to be reminded that he also has full FBI training as well rather than just computer skills.
It’s yet to be seen whether or not Red will put his search for the dufflebag on hold to help the Task Force rescue Samar, but with the level of respect he has for Samar, I can’t imagine that he wouldn’t try to help in some way. If he really does value the dufflebag more than Samar’s life, I’m going to be extremely disappointed. Regardless, “Lawrence Dane Devlin” has to move us closer to discovering Red’s secret, because the show runners have revealed that his secret will be unmasked for real in the season finale and it will alter the show forever. This sounds like a monumental revelation, but we’ll have to wait one more week to see what it is.
The Blacklist is at its best when it gets down to the emotional core of the series, the relationships and partnerships between the members of the Task Force and Red, so I’m hoping for an episode that is one of the season’s best tonight. There’s nothing more emotional in this series than the members of the Task Force trying to rescue one of their own from a situation that almost certainly means death. Here’s hoping that they’re able to find Samar before it’s too late, because I’m not ready to handle another big death this season after Tom.

Synopsis:
When Samar lands in the crosshairs of an unconventional Blacklister, Aram and the Task Force spring into action to find her before it’s too late. Meanwhile, Red journeys to Costa Rica to prevent the duffel bag of bones from being sold to the highest bidder at an underground auction.
