Supergirl’s season 3 finale left us feeling hopeless about what this show was doing story wise, as it fell victim to lazy storytelling and failed to provide closure when it claimed it to be its intentions. Needless to say, we weren’t feeling very confident about where Supergirl is headed in season 4.
But despite a season 4 trailer that didn’t really feature too much new footage, given Melissa Benoist’s Broadway run on Carole King, we’re cautiously optimistic about where this show might be headed next season. But that came from our time in the Supergirl press room, where we got some interesting teasers about “Red” Kara, as well as character arcs for returning and new, and the introduction of television’s first transgender superhero!
Watch the Supergirl season 4 Comic-Con trailer below, which features a dramatic voiceover from another new character Agent Liberty (Sam Witner), who appears to be leading the charge for mankind versus aliens.
Supergirl season 4 premieres Sunday, Oct. 14 at 8/7c on The CW.
