Welcome back, Mary Poppins! Welcome back, childhood. Welcome back, magic.
Yes, I am waxing poetic, because the official trailer for Mary Poppins Returns was just released and it looks …well, magical. There’s no other word for it.
MAGICAL, I TELL YOU.
Don’t believe me? Check out the trailer below:
Emily Blunt takes over the titular role once played by Julie Andrews. The all-star cast also includes Lin-Manuel Miranda, Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, and Dick Van Dyke (who played Bert in the 1964 original).
The full synopsis, released by Disney, reads as follows:
In Disney’s “Mary Poppins Returns,” an all new original musical and sequel, Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives following a personal loss. Emily Blunt stars as the practically-perfect nanny with unique magical skills who can turn any ordinary task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure and Lin-Manuel Miranda plays her friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London.
Come on, I dare you to tell me there aren’t tears in your eyes. Come share the feels in the comments below!
